A Letter to Spring

Dear Spring,

I have such high expectations for you. Even though people may overlook you because your just a middle season, I believe you are ever so special, because you are the beginning season, the season of life.
You make the dead grass strong and green once again. You make the sun shine so the death of Winter will melt away. You freckle my nose ever so gently (unlike the harsh sunlight of summer).
People may say your too weak, or perhaps too gentle of a season, but I don't believe them. You are the strongest of the four.
Though Winter tries to steal your shine (literally), you still seem to make your way to the surface -breaking through the hard frozen dirt and brittle branches. You still allow the opal sun to peak through winter clouds, the dew to hang on the grass like iridescent diamonds, and you let the branches grow emerald leaves.
You make the world alive once again. The silence, the stillness of Winter was all well and good, but I'm ready for you now, Spring. I'm ready for this blank canvas landscape I've stared at for months to wake up with color once again. For you to wake it up.
My, how tenderly you care for every animal, for every plant, for every blade of grass. You water the earth with your rain and give warmth with your sun.
Sometimes, it's a slow process, when the flowers, the branches, and plants of all kind want to stay locked up inside their buds clinging on to the safety they've known for so long, too long.
But you, dear Spring, are patient with them, those contrary little ones. You water them and give them sunlight and do it all again and again.
Until one day they decide to open, to wake up. Even their stubborn little hearts can not resist your soft warm sunlight shining on them. They stretch out their petals, their leaves, as they soak in your warmth. As it fills up their once hollow souls.
You may be blushing at this time, as you take in my too-many compliments, but Spring, dear Spring, it's all true, every word. I'm so glad you've finally arrived.
And I'm so excited to see you, to see what you'll do, once again.

Your Friend,
Eve

  2. Too beautiful. You precisely captured how I'm feeling about spring right about now. And the photos are lovely. They seem kind of mysterious to me, foggy and shadowy, but really beautiful.

  10. This is so beautiful! Spring is lovely. In Australia it never truly gets that cold and never snows, so spring it truly a lovely time of year. Summer is too hot, but spring whether is just right.
My favourite season is Autumn. I like how the weather gets colder and we can start breaking out with scarves and jumpers, yet we're not truly cold.
I'm so happy Autumn has finally arrived at last for us here in Australia.

    1. Thank you, Sophie! It truly is. I've heard the weather is amazing in Australia ( and I sooo want to go there someday). I love Autumn too! Spring and fall are my favorites.
Yay! How awesome! For some reason, I've always thought of Australia being extremely hot all the time-so I never knew you guys even had Autumn over there. I bet it's beautiful. <3

    2. Haha! Common mistake. We do get colder weather. No snow where I live, but it's not summer forever. Most people think of Queensland when they think of Australia. Super hot summers and not very cold winters. But we do get normal weather as well.
Autumn's funny for us. A lot of our trees being evergreens, we don't get so many brown and orange orange leaves. It's mainly just weather that tells us the seasons are changing.
