Self-Worth

Hey! Self-worth is a big issue these days.   For girls, it's hard to add up to what society says is  "beautiful".  Sometimes it's hard to accept that everyone is different and beautiful in their own way. If you struggle with self worth, remember that you are God's masterpiece! Picture God as the potter, and  we are the clay. He molds us into the wonderful people that we are. His sculptures of all of us are perfect. He never makes a mistake. Each one of his masterpieces are different but are all perfect.
Yet you, Lord, are our Father.

    We are the clay, you are the potter;
    we are all the work of your hand. -Isaiah 64:8

Everyone has something they want to change about themselves. Like their hair, eyebrows, weight, height, complexion, figure and it keeps on going. Every time we look in the mirror, we see all the things that we don't like about ourselves. Normally we concentrate on all the flaws we have, and we don't notice how beautiful we really are.  Check out this encouraging video below! It's about young girls and their mothers that find out how beautiful they really are. The next time you look in the mirror, try not to criticize yourself so much. When you look in the mirror, try saying,  "I am beautiful. I am God's masterpiece." Instead of knocking yourself down all the time, try building yourself up. :)

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. -Ephesians 2:10

If you are struggling with self-esteem, please remember that God has made you an amazing, beautiful, talented person. God loves you with all his heart. You are his masterpiece, and you are worth more than gold! Check out this music video by Britt Nicole!

They are worth more than gold, even the purest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even the finest honey. -Psalm 19:10

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well. -Psalm 139:13-14

Eve of Womanhood

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and I thought that I had to share it with you guys. :) It is a story about purity.

A mother and her daughter were walking up a hill and talking. Her daughter was about 21 and was complaining about how she is tired of waiting for Gods best. She kept on talking about putting things in her own hands and finding Mr. Right for herself. He mother just nodded and listened. When they got to the top of the hill her mother stopped ...and looked down at a lovely bush of roses. She said to her daughter, "Look, how beautiful the roses are this year. But look, a late bloomer. I think it shall be the prettiest of all. But you know, I really don't want to wait so, why don't we peel back the petals and just have a look." The daughter knowing that her mom would never do this looked at her in disbelief and said, "Mother, you know if I do this it will harm the rose and it won't be as beautiful as it would be if you had waited for it to bloom." But her mother persisted, "Oh but just pulling one petal back won't harm anything." Again the daughter was shocked, "It will harm everything!!! The flower isn't ready to bloom." Her mother nodded and smiled wisely, "exactly, so daughter, do not start pulling back your petals until God is ready for you." Girls, you are each such a beautiful rose. Delicate and full of love. Do not bring down you standards, stay strong in the Lord for he knows what is good. He will bring his best for you on his timing, not yours for his is the best timing.

Modesty

Hey! I thought that we could talk about modesty.

   Some may say it's lame, but I believe it is a virtue that should be cherished. Modesty isn't just about covering up more, it's about feeling secure as you are. You don't have to wear long sleeves and long skirts to be modest. You can still be modest and fashionable. I also believe that modesty is respectful to men.

    Let's say that a girl walks into class wearing a very low top and shorty shorts. The guys in the room don't see the real her, what they see is her body. The guys don't want to get to know her because she's like all the other girls. It's almost like immodesty cheapens the look of a person. Now lets say a modestly dressed girl enters the classroom. Guys are not looking at her body, instead they want to get to know her.

   I think it can also make it awkward for guys when a girl is dressed immodestly. It could be hard for a guy to have a conversation with a girl if she dresses immodestly. Just like I said before, it would be hard to see the real girl because her body is not covered. Some people may think that girls who dress modestly are insecure with themselves. Truth is, girls who dress modestly don't need low cut tops and short shorts to make them feel beautiful. They know that beauty comes within. Here is a quote I saw one time online. "Modesty is the way you deal with beauty not the way you avoid it"

    I also think that judging those who are not modest is wrong. The truth is we really don't know about their past or the way they were raised. Some girls think that there's nothing wrong with low cut tops and such.  It's our job to be an example for girls and show them that it's okay to not follow the crowd. What are your thoughts on modesty? If you would like to share just comment below.
I hope you all have an awesome day! :)

What Beauty Really Is

   Hi! Today I thought we could talk about beauty. In this world being beautiful seems to be an necessity for every girl.

But is it really?

    It seems to me that some girls wear so much make-up, that you can't even see the beautiful face that God has given to them. Girls always want to have the perfect figure as well. They want to look like the women on covers of the magazines.  It is sad to say that all of them are fake. Did you know that they use  computers to make the women on magazines look like that?

   Would you rather be fake or real? You may think that you're ugly or that you're just a big mistake. Here is something you should remember...God does not make mistakes. He has never made a mistake and never will. He made every girl and boy out there beautiful and perfect in his eyes. So when you're feeling down on your self, remember that God does not make mistakes.

   You should also try to remember that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. A girl could be gorgeous on the outside but her heart may not match her appearance. Always remember that You Are Beautiful!!! Here are a couple of verses that talk about true beauty.

(Here is a link to a Christian song that also does.  http://youtu.be/FhWf-SnCaU0)

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. -1 Peter 3:3-4

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. -Proverbs 31:30

Clothes For Fall Time

Hey everyone! Let's talk about modesty.  When I look in a store and check out the latest styles, it seems to me that it is normally to short and shows a little to much. You don't have to wear low cut shirts and short shorts to look pretty. In the bible it talks about inner beauty. This means that the beauty lies inside of you, not on your outward appearance. Since fall is here and the weather is getting a bit more chilly, you can wear a lot of cute outfits without showing to much skin. Sweaters are really comfy and pretty. Also jeans and boots are great for chilly weather!  Here is a example. :)
