Recent Happenings

Hello, friends! I thought I'd update you guys on some of the recent things that have been going on in my life. Hope you enjoy. <3

+My college classes start next week. NEXT WEEK I tell you. *faints* No, but seriously, the thought of it terrifies me. Even though I'm frightened, I know I'm exactly where God wants me to be which is a very comforting feeling. I'm also super excited to work at the preschool later this month! I can't wait to see all the little ones I teach. :)

+Today I took my drivers test and I PASSED. Even though I could've taken it earlier, I really wanted to feel ready and get tons of experience before jumping into it. I didn't take Driver's ED so my parents taught me how to drive. Parking (of any kind) is my archnemesis since it's something I'm not particularly skilled at doing. So, of course, I was extremely surprised when the woman who was testing me said I did a good job parallel parking. I couldn't stop smiling when she told me that I had passed. When they took my picture for my license, it was so hard to maintain a serious face which of course resulted in an extremely awkward looking photo. When I showed my little sisters the photo, they started laughing hysterically. I don't blame them. ;) I drove my younger sister to a little store in our town to get some onion ring chips (like Funyuns but wayyyy better). It was so strange to be driving without my mom or dad in the car, but I think I'll get used to it eventually.

+ Thanks to loads of saving and money from my graduation party I was able to purchase an IMAC.  It's a rather large upgrade compared to my old laptop that liked to spontaneously shut down at very inconvenient times. Which, I'll admit, was completely my fault since I stuffed so many images and image editing software into the poor dear that it could barely cope. I knew I needed a new computer that would be dependable, have a high screen resolution and lots of memory. I searched online many times for my perfect computer, yet my search always led me to the IMAC. I am so very grateful I was able to get it with the money I saved up. I absolutely love it!

Thanks for reading guys! What has been going on in your lives? <3

  1. Hi, Eve! It's good to hear from you, since it's been awhile. I've also been practicing driving-- once September 25 hits, I'll finally be able to test for my license! It's kind of important for me to get it, considering that I spend most of my time out of the house. I feel really bad asking to carpool family friends.

School's starting for me-- I have the option to graduate early this year, but I'm most likely opting not to. Schooling has often been super fast paced for me, and I'm actually a year ahead than what I'm supposed to be.

Other things: you're the first one I told this, but I finished my novel! Ugh, 80k words over one month, but it was worth it. I'm also videochatting with several blogger friends in two days, and I'm super super excited! Kind of nervous, since it's been awhile since I've chatted with blogging friends, but ahhhh! XD

    xoxo Morning

    1. I completely understand. Good luck to you. :)
No way! That's incredible, Morning. I could never have the patience to write a novel, but I do enjoy poetry though. How fun! I bet that will be a blast! <3

  2. How do you manage to take such excellent photos?!

That's exciting that college is about to start for you - all the best with it! I understand the feeling nervous - but once you get started, I'm sure it'll be even better than you expected. :) And congratulations on passing your driving test!

  3. EVE. oh man. good luck in those classes. it's a comforting thought to know that it's exactly where you need to be & that God is with you. never fear.

AND YOUR LICENSE????? WHAT. That is so, so exciting. You should take a roadtrip over here to Colorado ;) It's so funny how the pictures always turn out awkward for those! Hahaha!

getting a new computer is always a joy! it is so refreshing to have more room and to get everything in order. :)

  4. EVE. Its so good to see a post from you again!
I actually started college on Monday, and really its not so bad. My Psychology class is three hours long each day, though, and the teacher is killer boring XD What classes are you taking?

I've been practicing driving with my instructor, but she's basically told me I need a LOT more practice (even though I'd be able to take the licence test in September). I'm a ditsy person already, and on the road I'm- kind of -worse. XD

That computer looks great! It'll be so good for you and your photography pursuits <3

  7. My eyes were instantly soothed by your organized (and cute!) desk space. Thank you. :)Congrats on the fancy smancy computer!!

College will be so good for you! I only took my CNA through a local tech college, but it filled my "college experience" need. I loved it! Are you taking classes at a local college? (I haven't had internet in so long, so pardon my ignorance.)

AND YAY DRIVER'S ED! Honestly, parking just gets easier. In theory. Depends on the day. :) I failed my parallel parking on the test and the guy just whispered, "put it in park and say you're done. You'll lose less points." (I had already hit the CURB by then!) I was basically crying because I thought that meant I failed - but somehow I still passed. And I haven't parallel parked since. ;)

Best of luck on all your fall endeavors! Keep us updated!

  12. It's so exciting to get your license! I got mine back in July and like you said, it's just so weird not having your parents in the car. My photo...is also. the worst. like I've never really see a license picture that is as bad as mine XD
