It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

the sound of Mariah Carey's Christmas album. the one we listen to every year. We all attempt to sing the notes we can not reach.
the sweet taste of freshly baked snickerdoodles that melt on our tongues.
the warmth of our extra chocolate cocoa with cinnamon sprinkled on top. extra whipped cream.
the tree pieced together with our memory-filled ornaments past down throughout the years.
the photo albums we look at from Christmas' of our past.
the imperfect grainy photos that capture the emotion and beauty of tradition. new and old.
the moment when we turn off all the lights and only the tree gleams with light. making our eyes sparkle with something more than just happiness. they gleam with a feeling of belonging that always seems to cling to tradition and the beauty of  feeling at home and loved by family.

We always decorate our tree early. Though some may think we are totally crazy (and well, maybe we are) I love doing it. Every time I look in the living room and see our Christmas tree shining, it brings an overwhelming joy to my heart. It reminds me of childhood and so many wonderful Christmas memories. What are some Christmas traditions that you cherish?
Here's a little playlist of my favorite Christmas tunes if you'd like to check it out.

On a rather random note, I will desperately try to post more often. It seems like I either don't post at all or I post excessively. I've just been so busy lately and now I'm simply worn out. I have a wedding to shoot tomorrow as well as a family photo shoot after that. I have emails to answer, pictures to edit, and plenty of studying to do (for the SAT). Life has been super crazy but I just keep on asking God to give me strength throughout the busyness and to help me cherish the little moments, (like decorating the Christmas tree) so I can again gather up the strength I need for each day. I've been working on a
"Monochrome" and "Read More" post lately that I will hopefully post soon. :)
Love you guys. Thanks for reading. <3

  4. What Sanjana said is perfect, she took the words right out of my mouth!
I did find it a bit shocking when i scrolled through these christmas pictures. "RESPECT THE SEASONS PLEASE AND THANKS" is what a lot of my friends are saying these days. And our own family always waits until after thanksgiving for a tree, but oh my goodness what a dream this seems to be. I LOVEEEE christmas trees and all the twinkling lights and almost always try to leave them up until, like february. there such joy in them. so good for you. and good luck :)

  8. I'M SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS.

But we traditionally wait until Thanksgiving to listen to the first Christmas song, (which is O Holy Night by Nat King Cole) and I'm desperately trying to hold to that tradition and wait, because I'm super antsy for Christmas and I want to listen to Christmas music SO BADLY.

But anyway, sorry for the random.

    Your tree is pretty. ;)
