A Beautifully Horrible Week

I could pretend that my bones don't ache. That my heart isn't exhaustively trying to mend its broken pieces. That I'm not worn out and tired from long hard days.
But those, my friends, would all be rather big lies.
We had a funeral for a close member of our church. So many tears were shed. My heart goes out for the left behind loved ones who are still holding so much pain and sadness on their shoulders. As my dad preached during the funeral, I could feel the fresh grief lingering in the air. Its thickness made my eyes water and overflow.
Afterwards we served dinner to everyone who attended the funeral and babysat the kiddos at the church. Then we had youth group after that. We ended up staying there for a total of ten hours. Overall it was a very exhausting day. Though it was really nice to get to hang out with my friends at church while we discussed what we'll be singing for our youth choir and such.
But as you may know, there is also the word "beautifully" in the post title. Despite the stress and sadness of this week, the beauty of it still remains, as it always does.
I got the chance to photograph my first official wedding. They had it on the bride's mother's wraparound porch. It was a small wedding, with only the bride and groom's families present. It was the sort of intimate wedding I'd love to have one day.
Even though it was put together at the last minute it was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever attended. I loved every second of photographing their sweet wedding. Perhaps I'll post some of the photos I took soon.
I've also gotten two custom blog design orders! I've finished one and am currently working on a blog right now. I've forgotten how much I love coding and graphic designing. I'm so glad I've gotten the chance to do it some more. I'll share the final blog design of each blog when I'm finished with them.

p.s. I had a few pre-written posts I was going to publish on here, but I felt like I needed to just voice out on how this week has been. Yes, it has been a hard week but hope and beauty can still be found in it. And it's not even over yet. :) Thanks for reading and listening. <3

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.

  7. Finding beauty where others see mess is a skill so valued and rare. The way you display it here inspires me to look deeper and laugh longer even though the long days and tired feet! My heart goes out to you on this sorrow, but my hopes also go with you!

    God's grace be with you,

    Hannah

  8. I'm sorry for your loss at church. When our deacon died several years ago, everyone was affected. He was a man who held such wisdom, virtue and insight. I've been having a pretty bad week too; I've been dealing with some medical issues and it's been stressing me out tons. I'm glad you are seeing goodness in your week, though!

    xoxo Morning

  9. Beautiful words and photographs, Eve. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss at church - that's so hard.
Like Hannah P. said, it's a gift to be able to see beauty in life even in the midst of hardships. Like is such a strange mismatch of sad and happy things, isn't it?

  12. I'll be praying for you! We, also, recently had a memeber pass away (the second in over twenty years,) and it was a very emotional time. (yellowblissphotography.blogspot.com/2015/04/1452-part-one-april-1st-like-evening.html) Keep in mind, the best is yet to come. (:

  16. This is what i've been talking about. This is how i've been feeling, this is what has been happening. Heartbreak, death, sadness, exhaustion, but a steady, persistent wonder and new life. i cannot properly tell you or try to express the way that this post (all of them, really, but especially this one) has helped my soul. Just knowing that there is someone there right now, too. But sees the other side as well, and who turns that into life is just so so wonderful.
there was a few times during this week when i noticed there were no new posts from you, and i hoped that all was well. Though i do know why, i still hope things are well, but i will also remember you and your world in my prayers.
    Here's to a new week :)

  17. Goodness, heartbreak is such a part of us. It seems to linger behind everything we do, in every word we say. And it seems that some of us see it more clearly and often than others. You are one of those special people, so aware of grief and joy.

I'm glad tomorrow is going to come, fresh and clean. ♥

    xoxo

  18. So sorry the loss. Even though maybe sometimes the person passes away wasn't exactly family, the grief and reality of life's shortness you feel at that moment is tremendous. Beautiful pictures.. Can't wait to see the wedding ones:)
