Things of Yesteryear

Antique books.
1911, 1917, 1932

Letter written on December 29, 1916.

 Old bonnet.

 The American Woman Magazine.
June, 1921.

I can almost feel the residue from long gone memories
still clinging to the old parchment.
Tightening its grasp around the fragile objects
never letting them forget their past.
their beautiful
hard
sweet
horrible
past.
I can almost hear the whispering pages
that hold the secrets of yesteryear.
Like recordings of the soft voices
of those who've touched these yellowed pages
who've drank in these coal black words
that enabled them to
hope
 for a better tomorrow.
believe
in the impossible.
and
dream
for something more.

    1. I got most of them at antique shops and yard sales. I think all the items listed on here were under $3. Same here! I found the letter at a Salvation Army. I absolutely love it! <3 Thanks for commenting!

  9. OH MY LANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was phenomenal!!!! Where do you get such amazing post ideas! You are such a talented writer, Eve and I love every one of the posts you put up! I love antique shops to. I found an old autograph book from the late 1800s into the 1900s and one of the autographs was signed in Walnut Grove Minnesota?! I was like "Wow! I don't care how much this costs! I'm getting it!" It was only 3 bucks so it turned out good! <3
