Recent Happenings

Hello, hello! Sorry for disappearing from the blogging world for a while. I've been a very busy bee lately. I've been working, spring cleaning. editing, etc. I feel like I haven't done one of those "recently posts" in a while, so I thought I'd share some snippets of what life has looked like for me lately. I started this post more than a month ago and got far too busy (and lazy at times) to finish it up. Plus with each passing week, I had more and more to add since, you know, I've been living and such. So this post may be a bit sporadic but hopefully it's enjoyable anyways.

+ My photography business is actually starting up again! Whoop! I photographed the most adorable one year old boy ever, two sweet little newborns, a family, two Easter photo sessions, and even a Trash the Wedding dress photoshoot (which was super fun). I even took my own Senior pics with my tripod. I'll try to do a post soon about it.

+I've also set up a studio in my home for children and babies! It's nothing fancy but it works extremely well. All I do is move some of the furniture around in my living room and BOOM, there's my studio. God has greatly provided for my little business and for that, I'm beyond thankful. When I needed to buy a background hanger thing for my studio, we found something similar at an antique store for a cheaper price. He has provided me with props, background, and even a studio lighting system. I'm literally in shock. I'm still learning the art of studio photography, but so far I'm loving it.

+I have a new job! Eeeeeeeee! I'm working at a preschool/daycare. I had been praying and praying to God to help me find a job that I loved and that it would help me earn a living with my photography business. I've always loved little ones and when I go to college, I'm going for Early Childhood Education. I've wanted to be a preschool teacher for a few years now, so it's so awesome to get some experience. Though some days can be crazy, I love working there and all the sweet little ones. <3

+I'm graduating this May... Once I got my SAT scores back in, my mom said that I could graduate a year early. It's so scary...and exciting to be done with high school. I will be working extremely hard this summer to get through some stuff I need to finish. I'm going to college for Early Childhood Education. My goal is to start my own preschool or perhaps become a preschool teacher somewhere else, The idea of college scares me to DEATH (even though I'll probably be doing it online), but hopefully my nerves will calm down after a while.

~ How have you all been? ~

  1. That all sounds so exciting! Congrats on high school and your photography business :)
I recently had spring break, and my parents and I went to New Orleans! The swamps and bayous surrounding it were so pretty, and seeing all the architecture in the Garden District and French Quarter was cool too. I got to try some awesome food as well - even though I'm vegetarian, I still had vegetarian gumbo, beignets, grits, fried green tomatoes, and other Southern/NOLA foods I've never had before. :)

    1. Thanks, Ellie! How lovely! I bet it was beautiful there. I've never been, but my mom did when she was young. Mmmmm, gumbo. My mom made some one time and it was soooo good. Hope you all had a fantastic time. <3

  2. It's so awesome that you're doing well with your photography businesses! I love little ones as well. At church, I enjoy helping out in the preschool room. Oh, wouldn't being a preschool teacher be so much fun (and interesting!!)! I'll bet preschool teachers have the craziest stories to tell! Love your blog!<3 Your photography is AMAZING! Keep up the lovely work!

    1. How cool! At my old church I worked in the toddler nursery and I absolutely loved it! Haha, I know right! I have some funny/cute stories from working at the preschool. The are hilarious! One day, one of the little girls wanted to sit by her friends but she couldn't because all the seats were taken near them. So she complained to the Preschool teacher about it. She said, "Miss (inserts teacher's name), no one is sitting by me! I'm so lonely!" The teacher told her, "Jesus is with you, honey, he's always with you, so you don't need to feel lonely. He'll be your friend." That was not what the little girl wanted to hear apparently because she had the maddest little look on her face.
Goodness, some days are crazy, but I love every minute of it!
You are the sweetest!!!! Thank you, Abigail. <3

  3. It's wonderful to hear from you again, Eve! It sounds like God is really working in your life, and that's great. :)
Life has been busy for me, too. Sewing, writing, farm work, music, and baby-sitting my nieces and nephew have taken up a great deal of my time, and like you I'm just getting back into blogging.

Also, I just have to say: that's a great photo of you. :)

    1. I feel like everything in my life is moving so fast. I just met with my adviser and got classes set up. I'll be taking a math course at the college this summer and I'm, well, dreading it but I know it definitely needs to be done.
It has been so hard to get back into blogging when I've have such a long break time. I definitely need to set aside some time throughout my day so I can try to create posts and such.
Aw, thank you sooo much! It's one of my Senior photos. <3

  4. Life is very busy for me as well. I have also been spring cleaning...A LOT of spring cleaning.

I'm not a big "cleaner/organizer" but I love the way it looks in the end. I have noticed that I'm not as stressed when everything is straight and organized.

Well, have a great rest of your week! :)

    1. Same here. I've been trying to de-junk my room, but it's still a work in progress.

  8. Congratulations on all, Eve!
This year I am graduating and doing college courses as well (two years early). I'm getting my Associate's Degree online, and then plan on getting my Bachelor's in Washington or Oregon, given they are more agriculturally based, and Oregon has a good German program (I've been taking German for about a year now, and would like to be fluent).

*sighs* I have so many plans for my life, however, I'm trying to remind myself that what God has in store is far greater than I could possibly imagine.

x wishing you the best x

I know. It took me such a long time to figure out what I'd like to do with my life. Though I don't have everything worked out of course, I now know what I would like to pursue as a career. God has helped me and provided for me so very much. I couldn't thank Him enough for helping me find a career I truly love. Best wishes to you too, Jordy! <3
