Eve of Womanhood

do you remember when you were young,

and you held far too tightly onto your dreams?

though they were only clouds of unreachable smoke.

but you still cupped your hands

not caring that all you caught was lifeless air.

and I was there too. remember?

because I was young like you were.

and together we caught our hopes like fireflies

watching them glow inside our innocent hands,

not yet callused by the cruelness of the world.

hope you all had a very merry Christmas.
I'm off to a horse ranch with all of my family (cousins, grandparents, ya know, the whole shebang) for a mini vacation. 
It has become a tradition of ours and has since been one of my very favorites. Ta ta!  <3
