'Ello, friends.
Guess what?! I got a new cat! Her name is Cynthia. Isn't she just darling!
I named her after one of the midwives in the tv series 'Call the Midwife'.
How did I end up with this sweet kitty? Well, here's the story.
~~~
It all started when my little sister wanted and cat desperately. (You see she happens to already have a cat but it's a wild little thing and it's...well..mean.) So off we went one Saturday afternoon to find a kitten for my sis.
We tried the pet shop but all the kittens had already been sold. While we were there, my youngest sister (not the one who wanted the cat) got a betta fish and named him Robert. (You know, what all five year olds name their fish). Our only hope of finding a kitten was to go to our local animal shelter.
Once we got there we saw bucket loads of kittens in a pen. (Wow. "Bucket loads of kittens" just sounds wrong but you know what I mean.) The kittens were too young to leave their mother so we just played and looked at them. While my little sisters were hypnotized by the kittens' cuteness, I directed my attention to the pen behind me.
Inside were a three cats. One was fat and quite mean looking, another was eating the entire time we were there, and then there was the one that was staring at me. She was a calico with big green eyes. She meowed innocently several times and rubbed her fur against the pen, waiting to be petted. She seemed very tame and sweet.
My dad saw my looking at her and told me that I could have her if I'd like. I was speechless when he said I could own that cute creature peering out through the pen. The guy who worked there said that she was one of the sweetest cats they had at the shelter. He also informed us a little about her past. She had actually just had a kitten a few days before. Unfortunately it got so sick that they had to put it down. I looked at her sweet little face and knew that she needed some love and a good home.
~~~
And that's pretty much the story of how Cynthia became part of our family. She's very calm, nice, and lets my little sisters hold her (which is a miracle;) ).
So yeah. I know it may not be the most exciting story in the world, but I thought I should share this simple, sweet moments with you guys.
Thanks for reading!

Haha! Thanks, Treskie! <3
DeleteSo adorable! I agree with Hannah, it looks as though Cynthia makes an amazing little model. <3
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! <3 It is sooo hard to take pictures of my sisters' other cats. But Cynthia is so calm and always makes eye contact with people (which really comes in handy when taking pictures of her). She is such a sweetie. <3
DeleteShe's so beautiful, and I love her name- I'm also a big Call the Midwife fan. I would love to own a cat- unfortunately I spend most of my time in student housing where pets are not allowed. Maybe in a year or so!

DeleteAww! How exciting! She's a beautiful cat. :) I have a cat, Stormie, who is so small she looks like a kitten, but due to my allergies I never get to hold or pet her. :P
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your newest addition!
Thanks, Christine.:) Awwww. She sounds so cute! That's a bummer. :( We can't have any cats in our house because my mom is allergic to them. We keep them in our garage. They go outside and play in the daytime and come back in the garage when it gets dark where we food, water, and places for them to play. <3
DeleteOh, how precious!! She's so cute. Cats are simply the best. And that name is perfect!
ReplyDeleteAw! Thank you so much! <3
DeleteShe's adorable! Some cats are pretty mean, but she looks like she's one of the nice ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ella! I know what you mean. My grandpa has had Sammy (his cat) for years and he is such a meany (the cat not my grandpa). ;D

ReplyDeleteSo cute :) To be perfectly honest, me and cats aren't the greatest of friends - let's just put it that way. But they still are awfully cute ^-^
ReplyDeleteThanks! I know what you mean. <3 That is exactly how I feel around dogs.
DeleteWhat a lovely new design you have Eve! Hope all is well.

Thank you so much, Racic. <3
DeleteWhat an adorable cat! I wish my family would allow to have pets in the house, but living in a house that barely fits five people isn't necessarily the best ideal condition for a pet to live in.
