Love

Since it's almost Valentine's day, I thought we could talk about love. Not the type of love between boyfriends and girlfriends or spouses, but about God's love. God's love is unconditional. It's a love that will always love you, even when you make mistakes.

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God. who loved me and gave himself for me.
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—
1 John 4:9-11 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Here's a song about God's love!

He sent his son to die on the cross for us. His one and only son! I don't know about you, but to me that seems like a big sacrifice to make, even when we did not deserve it. He gives us hope even when it seems like we've come to a dead end. He loves us even when we don't love Him back. Sometimes life seems to be such a rush that we just need to slow down and thank God for all the things He has done for us. To me, that is LOVE. Girls are always saying, "Oh, I wish I had a boyfriend this Valentines Day!" and stuff like that when we already have a God that loves us so much!

 Here's a video for you all. :)

Self-Worth

Hey! Self-worth is a big issue these days.   For girls, it's hard to add up to what society says is  "beautiful".  Sometimes it's hard to accept that everyone is different and beautiful in their own way. If you struggle with self worth, remember that you are God's masterpiece! Picture God as the potter, and  we are the clay. He molds us into the wonderful people that we are. His sculptures of all of us are perfect. He never makes a mistake. Each one of his masterpieces are different but are all perfect.
Yet you, Lord, are our Father.

    We are the clay, you are the potter;
    we are all the work of your hand. -Isaiah 64:8

Everyone has something they want to change about themselves. Like their hair, eyebrows, weight, height, complexion, figure and it keeps on going. Every time we look in the mirror, we see all the things that we don't like about ourselves. Normally we concentrate on all the flaws we have, and we don't notice how beautiful we really are.  Check out this encouraging video below! It's about young girls and their mothers that find out how beautiful they really are. The next time you look in the mirror, try not to criticize yourself so much. When you look in the mirror, try saying,  "I am beautiful. I am God's masterpiece." Instead of knocking yourself down all the time, try building yourself up. :)

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. -Ephesians 2:10

If you are struggling with self-esteem, please remember that God has made you an amazing, beautiful, talented person. God loves you with all his heart. You are his masterpiece, and you are worth more than gold! Check out this music video by Britt Nicole!

They are worth more than gold, even the purest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even the finest honey. -Psalm 19:10

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well. -Psalm 139:13-14

Eve of Womanhood

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and I thought that I had to share it with you guys. :) It is a story about purity.

A mother and her daughter were walking up a hill and talking. Her daughter was about 21 and was complaining about how she is tired of waiting for Gods best. She kept on talking about putting things in her own hands and finding Mr. Right for herself. He mother just nodded and listened. When they got to the top of the hill her mother stopped ...and looked down at a lovely bush of roses. She said to her daughter, "Look, how beautiful the roses are this year. But look, a late bloomer. I think it shall be the prettiest of all. But you know, I really don't want to wait so, why don't we peel back the petals and just have a look." The daughter knowing that her mom would never do this looked at her in disbelief and said, "Mother, you know if I do this it will harm the rose and it won't be as beautiful as it would be if you had waited for it to bloom." But her mother persisted, "Oh but just pulling one petal back won't harm anything." Again the daughter was shocked, "It will harm everything!!! The flower isn't ready to bloom." Her mother nodded and smiled wisely, "exactly, so daughter, do not start pulling back your petals until God is ready for you." Girls, you are each such a beautiful rose. Delicate and full of love. Do not bring down you standards, stay strong in the Lord for he knows what is good. He will bring his best for you on his timing, not yours for his is the best timing.
