To Cool in the Peppermint Wind

When I woke up today, I was super surprised to see a few inches of snow covering the ground. I just had to go out and explore the winter wonderland. It was so beautiful. I put on my many layer  (I sorta resembled a marshmallow with my fluffy white coat ;) then headed outside. Sarah (from Trusting in the Lord day by day), made me that ear warmer for my birthday! Isn't it awesome! You should definitely check out her online shop where she sells handmade crochet items. I can't believe that winter has already arrived. It seems like only yesterday it was warm and sunny.
Sorry that my eyes are all squinty in the photos. It's so strange how even though it's cloudy it seems so bright!
The last couple of weeks have been so busy so I haven't had much time to post. I will be trying to post more often. :)
What have you all been up too?

I thought I would share one of my favorite poems with you guys.<3

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends,
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
~Shel Silverstein~

I'm so jealous when I see everyone posting their snow pictures when I've only seen the beautiful white stuff maybe three times in my entire life!

    1. Aw, thanks Jordy! Oh wow, I couldn't imagine not having snow in the winter time. Which state (or country) do you live in?

    2. I live in Southern California :)
Which is nice because there's lots of malls and Disneyland and stuff, but also sucks because it feels as though the only season is summer.

    3. Yeah, I bet it's pretty hot there! Wow, that sounds so fun to be close to everything, but it's also a bummer to not have any snow. Right now, I wish I was somewhere hot. It's so cold outside! To bad we can't switch places for a little while. ;)
