Hey guys.
I haven't done a post where I simply chat about recent happenings in a while. (or have I ever?) So tonight I'm gonna do it.
Yep. Here we go.
+This week has mainly been snow day after snow day. I keep waiting for it to melt but the sun has hidden stubbornly behind the clouds. Those once little innocent flurries have seemed to turn ferocious overnight. A few inches of snow is all well and good but if it starts sleeting and snowing so much that it prevents me from visiting your cousins because of the icy roads then it's not so nice anymore.
huh uh.
p.s. You can have your snow back, Sarah. I've had enough of it. ;) *inside joke*
+I bought a 50mm 1.8 lens! It was a great price and people said the quality was great too. And boy, were they right. It brings so much light into photos (not to mention an amazing amount of bokeh♥). Oh goodness. It's perfect and so cute and small. All the photos above were taken with that lens. I've done so many mini photoshoots with my sisters with this lovely lens and I'll definitely be sharing the pictures on here. So keep your eyes peeled. ;)
+Speaking of cameras I decided to start my own photography business. I haven't really publicized it yet, but I've created a Facebook page and a website for it. I'm excited for this new adventure yet I'm frightened at the same time. It seems like it would be a lot harder (and perhaps a little awkward) to photograph people who aren't my sisters (they have been my makeshift models for a while). I will be photographing a baby (and perhaps his family too) soon to start off my business. I'm hoping everything will turn out alright. I know once I get used to taking pictures of people I don't know, I'll genuinely enjoy it since photography has always been something I've wanted to do. But for now, I have lots of butterflies in my stomach.
I also wanted to thank you all for your sweet comments about my photography. You guys have showered me kind words that made me smile, blush, and made me have confidence in my photography that I've never had before. And for that, I thank you all oh so much.<3
+I've also painted a picture of Grumpy Cat at an art studio place today. It was so fun! I know I should put a picture of it on here, but I'm tired and lazy right now. I will eventually take a picture of it of course, to help out with your curiosity. I'll give you a hint: It's grumpy and it's a...cat. How very surprising!
So that concludes this recent happenings post. Thank you for reading and goodnight (or good morning or good afternoon for those all around the world). ♥
Eve, your photography is absolutely stunning and you deserve every complement you get. I'm so glad you've been able to pursue your dream of a better camera and photography equipment :) Keep up the good work.

Delete*cheers* So happy for you that you're making your photography a business. Your photography is stunning, and it always makes your posts simply the best. And I believe I can relate to the snow problems. A cycle of snow, sleet, and ice :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, Autumn! That is so nice of you to say! ♥
DeleteOh yes, so much cold winter weather. Spring where are you?
Yay! I'm so excited to see your photography business and your photography grow! I want a DSLR so bad, but until my birthday (eight more months) my parents aren't going to budge to get me one. O-O
ReplyDeletexoxo Morning

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to buy a 50mm lens sometime. My mum has a 33mm and I want to see what the difference is. Everyone recommends the lens. It does take beautiful photos though.
Thank you! I definitely recommend that you get yourself one someday. It's a lovely lens. ♥
DeleteI'm so excited for your (soon to be happening) photography business!! Just know that I think your photography is THE bomb, and I'm certain it will be successful and definitely a lot of fun. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart xxx.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks. <3 That is sooo nice of you to say! xoxo
DeleteTrust me, I know the feeling of having one snow day after another! I go to public school and the number of cancelled days has been astounding.
ReplyDeleteI know! The public schools in our area had all snow days last week. Then after the sleeting and very icy roads, I'm not sure what they're gonna do.
DeleteThat is so cool that you've decided to start your own business. Photography is something I'd like to do for a career one day as well.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures, Eve!
Thanks! I'm really excited.
DeleteYour photography is gorgeous by the way. <3
*pulls hands back innocently* heyyy, you wanted it, I'm not taking it back!!!! We can finally see little patches of dirt on the ground, and the SUN is out!! hahaa, you haven't even had snow as barely as long as I have! Spring, where are you?! ;) Wow! That is so neat! I can't wait to see your photography website and photos. You take stunning photos, I'm sure you'll get lots of people wanting you to take photos of them. :D That is so awesome! I love photography as well, and I have been venturing into the settings....there are soooo many.. :P It's always so satisfying when you get a good photo though, keep up the good work! :D
ReplyDeleteHaha! I know, I know. ;) I'm so ready for spring!
DeleteThanks! I know what you mean! There are so many settings on mine I still don't know how to work.
Oh my, that's wonderful! What is the name of your business? I can't wait to check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteJust a quick photography question: I'm looking for a great Canon DSLR and my max budget is $500. Something that takes great pictures like yours, so I'm leaning towards a Rebel camera. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Thanks! I decided on 'Simple Moments Photography'.
DeleteAny of Rebels would be good. There are surprisingly a lot of Rebels under $500. Like the t3 or t5 and so on.
I'm so excited to hear that you're turning your photography talents into a business! I'm sure you'll be a great success.
ReplyDeleteAs for snow, I should be sick of it too, but for some reason I never tire of it. Even when there's two feet of snow out there and it's below zero. My sister says I'm crazy, and I'm inclined to agree. :)

Thank you, Rebecca! <3
DeleteEven though I would like spring to come, I truly enjoy snow days. I love sipping hot chocolate or watching a movie with my family during the winter months.:)
Good luck on your photography business, and I'm sure you will do AMAZING. If only I knew you...I would've loved to have you take pictures for me! Too bad we don't live close :(
