we can laugh like 

nothings wrong
can wear our 
perfect
little
smiles
pretend we have 
our lives

 all figured out
but inside
 we are all just
broken people
with broken
souls
broken souls

by the one
who created us,
 humans
in the first place
only he can heal

First Baby Photo Session

I got the chance to photograph this adorable baby boy yesterday.
At first I was a little nervous because photographers are always saying how hard babies are to photograph.

But as you can see from the photos above, I really had nothing to worry about. He just kept on smiling and smiling and letting his cute personality shine through. :) He did such a fabulous job!

I think I was enjoying myself just as much as he was. I loved making him laugh and capturing his adorable little expressions.
 I originally had 63 photos of him, but I felt like that would be A LOT to put in this post. So I just narrowed it down to the very best ones. (It was very hard since he was so cute in all of them!)
So I hope you guys like them.

Recent Happenings

Hey guys.

I haven't done a post where I simply chat about recent happenings in a while. (or have I ever?) So tonight I'm gonna do it. 

Yep. Here we go.

+This week has mainly been snow day after snow day. I keep waiting for it to melt but the sun has hidden stubbornly behind the clouds. Those once little innocent flurries have seemed to turn ferocious overnight. A few inches of snow is all well and good but if it starts sleeting and snowing so much that it prevents me from visiting your cousins because of the icy roads then it's not so nice anymore. 

huh uh.

p.s. You can have your snow back, Sarah. I've had enough of it. ;) *inside joke*

+I bought a 50mm 1.8 lens! It was a great price and people said the quality was great too. And boy, were they right. It brings so much light into photos (not to mention an amazing amount of bokeh♥). Oh goodness. It's perfect and so cute and small. All the photos above were taken with that lens. I've done so many mini photoshoots with my sisters with this lovely lens and I'll definitely be sharing the pictures on here. So keep your eyes peeled. ;)

+Speaking of cameras I decided to start my own photography business. I haven't really publicized it yet, but I've created a Facebook page and a website for it. I'm excited for this new adventure yet I'm frightened at the same time. It seems like it would be a lot harder (and perhaps a little awkward) to photograph people who aren't my sisters (they have been my makeshift models for a while). I will be photographing a baby (and perhaps his family too) soon to start off my business. I'm hoping everything will turn out alright. I know once I get used to taking pictures of people I don't know, I'll genuinely enjoy it since photography has always been something I've wanted to do. But for now, I have lots of butterflies in my stomach. 

I also wanted to thank you all for your sweet comments about my photography. You guys have showered me kind words that made me smile, blush, and made me have confidence in my photography that I've never had before. And for that, I thank you all oh so much.<3

+I've also painted a picture of Grumpy Cat at an art studio place today. It was so fun! I know I should put a picture of it on here, but I'm tired and lazy right now. I will eventually take a picture of it of course, to help out with your curiosity. I'll give you a hint: It's grumpy and it's a...cat. How very surprising!

When the Snow Fell

It snowed all day today. I was really hoping we would get at least one more snow before spring was here, and I got my wish. I woke up and saw a thick fluffy blanket of snow outside the window. After I finished my school for the day, I went outside in the snow and took some pictures of my little sisters. After a while we came in and I drank some homemade hot chocolate that my mom made for us. 

It was simply delicious.

I love snow days. They're the perfect days to refresh our minds, admire the beauty of winter through our windows, and spend time with our families. 

Tomorrow will probably be another snow day and that's completely fine with me. <3

Falling Hearts
