DIY Moisturizing Hand Cream

Hello!
This evening I'm going to show you all how to make your own hand cream.
My mother made up this easy recipe that is super good for your hands!
Okay, let's get started. :)
 You'll need...
1.Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream (It has no dyes or anything like that). You can also use something similar to this if you don't have it on hand.
2. Coconut Oil
3. Aloe Vera Gel(This is the stuff you put on burns).
4.Spoon for stirring.
5. Microwave safe bowl.
6. Container for the cream.
 1. Put a little clump of coconut oil in your microwave safe bowl(You don't need a lot).
2. Microwave it until it is easy enough to stir.
3. Squirt the aloe gel in with the coconut oil and mix it with a spoon.
4. Put the Vanicream(this is going to be the main part of the cream so put more than any other ingredients).
5. Stir until it is well mixed.
6. Put the cream in the container of your choice, and let it cool for a few hours to let it harden.

P.S.
Some people may get a small rash because of this cream, so make a little at first to try it out before making large quantities.
Is there anything else you all would be interested in that has something to do with DIY projects?

How to Put a Photo in a Font

Hello blogger friends!
I have yet another tutorial for you. :)
I am going to teach you how to put an image in a font like this:
I hope you enjoy! If you have any questions or thoughts on this tutorial just comment below!

1. Go on PicMonkey and make a plain white canvas. That is the size you want it to be.
2. Go to fonts and pick a nice big font(this is so you can see the image nicely) in black.
3. Once you've done that, click on the button that is highlighted below.
4. Then go to textures(the icon looks like it is a quilt).
5. Click on the on the button that say "Your Own" and then "Open my Texture".
6. When the picture you have chosen is behind the text, click on "Screen" which is under the blend mode.
7.Then it should have an appearance like this (image below).
8. Then just save it.

How to do Multiple Links on a Header

Okay, so today I'm going to show you how to put multiple links on a header.
With the help of Rachelle and her blog Beloved Bluebirds(you should really check out her blog), I was able to understand how to do this. I hope this is helpful for you. :)

1. Go to PicMonkey (or any other place that you could make a header) and make your header and customize it.
2. Then save your image.

3. Go to this link and click on the Browse For File button. Once you've chosen the right image click on Start Mapping.
4. When you're there right click on the part of the image you want to link and click on Create Rect.

5. Crop over the spot you want the link to be.
6. Go to the page that you want it to link to and copy the URL then paste it on all four of the boxes.
7. Repeat these steps (with the different links you want each one to have) until you are satisfied with the linking.
P.S.
Don't be alarmed if the places you've cropped and linked look red. It won't look like that when you put it on your website.

8. Right click again and click on Get Code.
9. Click on the HTML Code tab and scroll all the way down. There is a code there that you will copy and paste later so don't exit from there.

10. Log in to your blogger account and go to dashboard, then go to the blog's overview you want to put the header on. Then go to template and then click on Edit HTML.

11. Find this code : <b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='1' showaddelement='no'>2<b:widget id='Header1' locked='true' title='YOUR_BLOG_TITLE (Header)' type='Header'/>

P.S. Push Ctrl and F to search for the specific code. Don't forget about changing YOUR BLOG TITLE to your actual blog title.

12. Change the code a little. Where it says "maxwidget='1'" make it 2.
Where it says "showaddelement=no" make it yes and
"locked='true'" make it false instead.

13. This is what it show look like after these changes:
<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='2' showaddelement='yes'> <b:widget id='Header1' locked='false' title='YOUR_BLOG_TITLE (Header)' type='Header'/>

14. Save your changes and go to your Layout.
15. Click on your Blog Header and remove it, and put a Html/JavaScript gadget in the header's place.
16.Go back to the image mapping site that you already have up and copy the code and paste it into the HTML/JavaScript gadget.
17. Save your changes and make sure everything works on it.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions or thoughts just comment below.

Interview With Cory From Cranberry Deer

Hello everyone! I got the chance to interview Cory from Cranberry Deer. Her blog is so beautiful and refreshing so go check it out when you get the chance! Enjoy!

Blog Questions
 1. Why did you start a blog?
I  have always loved reading blogs, and I wanted to become a part of the blogging community. I had fantasised about starting a blog for a while, and this year I just thought, hey. What’s stopping me? So here I am now.

 2. What is the story behind your blog's name?
Well I was browsing Pinterest one day and I found a really lovely deer pillow, in a cranberry colour. So I set it as my profile picture, and while I was thinking of a username for Pinterest I just looked at my profile picture and BAM. Cranberry Deer was born. I created my blog after I had a Pinterest account, so I just used my Pinterest username!

 3. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging this year, in March. I am a newbie!

 4. What types of post do you like to do on your blog?
I like to post about different artists, crafts, Etsy stores and indie designers. I also post the odd recipe, inspiration collection, and indie fashion line.

5. Do you have any advice for people who have just started blogging?
Well I have just started blogging myself! But I would say to forget about followers. Post quality content, and the followers will come. Also, comment and follow other blogs, and maybe try to guest post to get people interested in your blog.

 More Fun Personal Questions

 6. What are some of your hobbies?
I love to read and watch documentaries. I am a total nerd too, so I actually enjoy studying. That takes up quite a bit of my time! Away from my nerd side, I love to design different free custom graphics for blogs at my design store Freckles + Hedgehogs. Oh, I also love playing with my pet guinea pigs!

 7. What is your favorite blog/website?
Oh that is a hard one! I love so many blogs, I couldn’t choose just one! But if I had to choose a website, it would be Youtube or Etsy. I love them both!

 8. If you could go to any country in the world which one would it be?
Definitely Sweden! I love the Swedish style and language so much. I would also love to visit Canada and the UK.

 9. What is your dream career?
A doctor! I would really love to become a doctor. I have a huge interest in medicine. Being a doctor would be a really rewarding career as well. And I enjoy studying, which is great because there will be a lot of that!

 10. What is your favorite food?
Figs. Every time figs come in to season I always buy heaps and then eat one or two a day. Writing that makes me hungry!

 11. If you could go back in time, which time period would you go to?
Probably the 1950’s. I just love the style, packaging and clothing!

 12.What is your favorite book?
Ok, so my favourite book is just a tad bit odd. It’s ‘Where there is no Doctor’, a medical guide for remote villages. I just find it so interesting!

 13. If you had to pick three things/people that were most important to you what would they be?
Don’t do this to me! Such a hard question. It would have to be 3 people in my close family and my guinea pig.

 14. What is your favorite color?
White! I know, it is technically a shade. If I had to pick a “colour colour” it would be orange.

 15. What is your favorite movie?
Coraline. It is a children’s movie, I know. But it is just so strange and wonderful, I re-watch it all the time!

 16. What is your style?
Minimalistic, vintage, Swedish style with a pinch of oddness.

Thank you so much for the interview Cory!
It's such a blast to get to know you a little more! :)

How to Show Recent Pins on Your Blog

First go to this link
When you are there, either click on the Profile Widget (It will show your most recent pins) or the Board Widget (It will show a specific board).
If you picked the Profile Widget then go on your profile on Pinterest and copy the URL.
If you picked the Board Widget go to the specific board of your choosing on your profile and copy the URL.
Then paste the URL where it says "Pinterest User URL".
Now it's time to customize it! At the bottom of where you put your URL, there is something that says "Custom Sizes". Click on Roll Your Own so you can customize the size. Once you've done that, click on one of the different choices(the things that say header, sidebar, and square). I chose the square one. Type in the correct size that is the same size as your side-bar.
 P.S.
Below the Build It button  there is a place where you can see the preview of what it will look like on your blog.
When you're all done click on the Build It button.
If you scroll down you will find a code. Copy it and paste it in a Html/JavaScript gadget in your layout. View your blog to make sure it looks right.
Now your all done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! I know a lot of you might already know how to do this, but I thought I'd share this anyway.
I will probably be doing more blog design tips in the next couple of weeks so keep your eyes peeled!

At the Zoo

Hi everyone! You may have noticed that my blog looks a bit different now. I decided to redesign it. I hope you all like it. Comment below on what you think about it. :)

Oh and I am probably going to do a blog design tutorial for my next post. Is there anything you want to know (like how to do something design related)? Just comment what you would like to learn how to do, and
I will try to show you how or tell if I can or can't do it.

Anyways, back to the actual subject of this post. Yesterday we went to the zoo.
It was actually really fun.
It was raining most the day but then the sun finally cam out!
I hope you enjoy this post of my little adventure at the zoo. :)
The pictures may take a while to load.

A camel trying not to get rained on.

This is me sitting on a random stone rhinoceros. We were all wearing ponchos because of the rain.

One of my favorite animals! I love merkats! They are so adorable, and they all work as a team.

This is a lemur that is hiding from the rain.

My little sister on the zoo's carousel.

Orangutans are my all time favorite animal. They have such a wise look about them.
This one (the picture below) sort of scared me. Haha! It kept on knocking on the glass.
When we were looking at the wallabies.
 Sea lion

My little sister(her picture below) wanted to see the polar bears, but sadly they weren't out yet. She was so disappointed. Here's what happened afterwards.
Little Sis: -looks helplessly sad because she can not see her very favorite animal(polar bears)-
My mom: How about you buy a Polar Bear at the gift shop with some of your money.
Little Sis:-Gasps- A Polar Bear! -then looks a little afraid-
My mom: Yeah, you can buy it when we go to the zoo's gift shop.
Little Sis: -has a really scared look on her face-
My mom: What is it?
Little Sis: It might roar at me!!!

Yeah, so I guess my little sister thought that it was going to be a real polar bear. Once we explained to her that we meant a stuffed animal she was very relieved!

I hoe you enjoyed this post!
Thanks for reading!
