How To Make A Shabby Chic Chair

Hi!
Today I'm going to show you how to give an old chair a shabby chic look.
It only takes five easy steps to make your own shabby chic chair.
The paint I used was only about fifty cents. I bought it at my local Walmart. The brand is Apple Barrel, and the color is Key West.

 1. First you'll need an old chair.
2.Then you should find a paint color that suits you best.
3. Put some newspapers around and under the chair to prevent messes.
4. Next paint the chair with only one layer. Roughly paint it to give it more character.
Then let it dry.  All done!

Judging Others

Hi everyone! Today the topic is judging others. It seems to me that judging people for how they act or how they look is one of the hardest habits to break. In the bible it says -Do not judge or you too will be judged- Of course we don't like it when people judge us, so why do we judge others? It seems like we label anyone we meet. You never know, someone might has already labeled you for something you did. I know it seems that some people are harder to get along with then others, but we still need to be kind to everyone. So instead of thinking bad about someone, let's try to be positive. The truth is we don't even know enough about them, so why would we judge them? We don't know what they went through or how their life is. Instead of using harsh words about people, let's use words of encouragement.

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.    -Matthew 7:1-5

I hope everyone has a great day!

Gossiping

Hey everyone! In this post, I'm going to talk about gossiping. It's something that a lot of people struggle with including me. Sometimes we just need to keep our mouths shut. If you can't say any nice then you shouldn't say anything at all. But it is easier said then done. I am trying to work on only speaking words that lift people up instead of bringing them down. Your mouth is probably your most dangerous weapon. It can make someone cheerful in seconds or make someone feel worthless in a heartbeat. If you have friends that draw you into gossiping, try to tell them that you are trying to not gossip about anyone and that it would be best to change the subject. Not all gossip is bad. You can make small talk instead. You can talk about things that encourage people instead. Here is an example.

Your Friend- Ugh! That Bertha! She always thinking of herself! Did you hear what she did yesterday? Well it all started when....

You- Um...   Did you hear that Suzy got a new puppy? It is so adorable. I got to see it today. She said if you wanted to, you could go and see it tomorrow.

Your Friend- Oh yeah I heard about that! I would love to come! I bet it is so cute!

Sorry about the cheesy picture and story. I just thought of it on the spot. So if you feel tempted to gossip, lift people up with everything you say.  It won't just make the people that you talk about cheerful, it will make you feel cheerful as well. :)  Here is a bible verse that talks about gossiping.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  -Ephesians 4:29

The Beauty of Autumn

Hello everyone! Today I took a little walk on a path. I decided to take some pictures of the beautiful, brightly colored leaves and the autumn scenery. My favorite season is fall. What about you?

What an encouraging song! -Eve

Hey!  I thought I'd share a picture I took and some scripture. I hope you enjoy. :)

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.    Matthew 5:14-16

TobyMac - Speak Life (Lyrics) (Speak Life! -Eve)

Hey! Here is a poem I wrote. :) It is called Tree of Womanhood. Enjoy!

A girl starts out a sapling,

With every breeze she twist and bends,

In the way her parents direct her in,

She becomes more rigid as she grows,

She withstands the worlds wind,

When grown she will not bend,

As spring comes birds build in her a nest,

In her strength they calmly rest,

Each branch is like a mother’s arm,

Holding them in storms to keep them safe from harm,

Warmer and longer become the day,

When summer begins children run and play,

She shades them from the hot sun,

And before she knows it autumn has begun,

Her colorful leaves begin to fall again and again,

Like a blanket covering the dry grass from the harsh wind,

Winter comes and the snow will slowly fall,

Her trunk is a warm home to creatures one and all,

The tree is not young now, but she is old,

The kindness that she spent on others is worth more than gold.

Hey everyone! I thought I could share an easy fall decoration. All you'll need is a couple of leaves, a photo frame and newspaper.

 1. First cut out the newspaper so it can fit into the frame.
2. Take the leaves and place them where you would like them to go.
3.Then put the newspaper that has been cut into the frame.
4.Seal it up and you're all done!

Clothes For Fall Time

Hey everyone! Let's talk about modesty.  When I look in a store and check out the latest styles, it seems to me that it is normally to short and shows a little to much. You don't have to wear low cut shirts and short shorts to look pretty. In the bible it talks about inner beauty. This means that the beauty lies inside of you, not on your outward appearance. Since fall is here and the weather is getting a bit more chilly, you can wear a lot of cute outfits without showing to much skin. Sweaters are really comfy and pretty. Also jeans and boots are great for chilly weather!  Here is a example. :)

First Post!

So for my first post I will be doing a book review.  The book is called Torn Threads and is by Anne Isaacs.

This story is true. It is about Jewish girl named Eva and her sister named Rachel. It takes place in 1943 and for four years the Nazi armies have been there in their Polish town in Bedzin. But when Rachel is taken to a work camp, Eva needs to go too to help her weak sister before it's to late. But when she gets there, nothing is as it seems. They treat them like slaves or animals. Eva is forced to spin thread on dangerous machines to make uniforms and blankets for the German army. Many of the women at the camp think God as abandoned them. but through the horror of the Holocaust Eva and Rachel still try to seek God guidance. I know it doesn't sound like the happiest or funniest story but it makes you understand the pain and the struggle they went through.  But also the hope they held on to. This is an amazing true story that I hope you like too.
